The History of Poker Money
Casino chips have been made from a varied selection of materials in an almost endless assortment of variations since the creation of betting and the need to track winnings. The most commonly seen components used today in the manufacture of cutting-edge poker chips are plastic, clay, and acrylics. Clay chips, the oldest of the bunch, have been made in America since the late 19th century.
Back in the 19th century, poker enthusiasts appear to be using any small object with value you can imagine. Early poker enthusiasts sometimes used jagged gold pieces as well as chips – mainly made of wood and clay. By the 20th century, poker chip designs began to enjoy a greater prominence, and the smooth edges of older chips were given up to chips with slits to hold them neatly arranged with each other.
There is little or no doubt that poker has gotten bigger constantly in acceptance since its beginnings in the 19th century. With the explosive increase of net gaming and specialty TV shows, public interest in poker has feed the fire faster than ever before. Most people are first introduced to poker by TV showslike "Celebrity Poker" or "Poker After Dark," and many will compete in their initial hands on the net. Regardless of online poker’s rise, not much competes with the feeling of mixing weighty clay poker chips in your hand, throwing chips into the middle of a casino table, or creating high pilesstacks of chips after showing a victorious hand.
