NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He started competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he defeated many of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is quite humble about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a regular basis.
