Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from others destroy his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and a continuing passion for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
