Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse feedback from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is quite humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Although Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
