Poker has become globally celebrated recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other players are given five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original bet, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a figure equal to the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The house pony’s up money even with your wager and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
