No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the planet by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative feedback from others destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
Phil began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
